Our subsidary tasks are to create a music magazine cover, advertising the artist's song for the music video and to create a DVD cover to promote our music video song. Our group has decided to split into two groups to complete the two required tasks which are the music magazine cover, and a DVD cover to advertise their music video. We will be focusing on the DVD cover alongside one other person in my group, I will also need to research existing music video DVD covers so I will understand what needs to be featured on our original cover. The codes and conventions will be used so it will look realistic and professional. We have many ideas for the front cover of it that is symbolic and appropriate for the cover.

Music DVD Covers Analysis
To make our DVD cover original and different to others, we have researched many existing music video covers and have decided to create a collage of images as the main image on the cover to tell the story to the song. The images above show a collage of various images which is what we want to portray so the cover will look as interesting as possible. Also, we are going to change the collage by adding colour to the images. The first images will have hardly any colour or light to represent the past and as the final images are placed, these images will be bright and colourful to portray the present. The images we have chosen are representing the love story, showing heartbreak and then moving on to loving someone else.We have started to create our DVD cover, and have chosen what type of font and style we want on the back. The back of the cover is black and hence, we want the text to be bright so it stands out, as well as the images we will choose which will be when we record some of the scenes for the music video as well as other photoshoots we need to carry out.
The magazine cover is almost competed and a few extra features are just being added to make sure it has all the correct codes and conventions.
We have now completed one of the subsidary tasks- the music video DVD cover. It has all of the codes and conventions with cretaive ideas such as the images on the front cover to show the story of the music video with the images gradually getting more colourful to show what is happening in the present, in contrast to the past.
The subsidary tasks are now complete. We have spent a lot of time going through them and making changes to improve them. The music magazine cover was more difficult to finish as there were gaps on the cover and we had to think of ideas as to what would be in the places. We have also got audience feedback which overall was very positive which made us feel that the subsidary tasks were finished and looked successful and professional.
